Linköping University is a state university in Linköping, Sweden. It was established in 1969 and it gained its university status in 1975 as Sweden’s sixth university. Since then Linköping University (LiU) has grown considerably, expanding to Norrköping and Stockholm. Moreover, Linköping University has worked with innovation in education and research.
Linköping University (LiU) has 27,000 students and 4,000 employees. LiU is among the Swedish universities that offer the largest number of professional degree programmes, in fields such as medicine, education, business, economics and engineering. It offers English taught Master Programmes within Engineering, Environmental Studies, Natural Science, Education, also Social Science and Humanities. It also conducts researches within a variety of disciplines, with strong internationally recognised research environments, e.g. materials science, information technology and disability studies.
