Welcome to Cyprus!

A 'jewel' of a Mediterranean island and the mythical birthplace of Aphrodite, Cyprus combines a rich cultural and archaeological heritage with great natural beauty and a welcoming population. Greeks, Phoenicians, Egyptians, Assyrians, Arabs, Crusaders, Venetians, Ottomans and the British have all left their mark in this country. Cyprus is an island country in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea and a good study abroad destination for students. Cyprus offers a remarkably diverse natural and cultural environment for such a small country. In the same time, you can visit snow-tipped pine forests in the Troodos Mountains, drive through fields of olive trees and relax by the clear blue Mediterranean Sea.

The cultural heritage of Cyprus reflects its physical diversity. Ancient Greek temples, Roman amphitheaters, pre-historic settlements, Crusader castles, Venetian fortifications and Byzantine churches can all be found within a day's drive. As for now, Cyprus retains a multi-cultural heritage combining Greek, Turkish and British influences in a modern European society.
