VHL University of Applied Sciences is an international green knowledge institute of higher education with a focus on sustainability. It is considered as a unique university since its curricula focus on nature and environment, human and animal health and responsible entrepreneurship.

Some of their bachelor programmes are International Business and Management Studies, Agirbusiness and Business Administration, Animal Husbandry, Food Technology, Agri Systems Management, Rural Innovation, Coastal Zone Management, and Land and Water Management. While some of their masters programmes are Management of Development Agricultural Production and Chain Management. As an international institution of higher education, they incorporate international competences in the education system and curriculum which matches the internationalization quality formulated by the VSNU (Association of universities in the Netherlands) and the Netherlands Association of Universities of Applied Sciences.
