The University of Helsinki (UH) is internationally renowned for its high quality of teaching, research, and innovation. Located in Helsinki, Finland, it was established in 1640 as the oldest and largest institution of academic education in Finland. It has been contributing to society, education and welfare through the power of science ever since. The University of Helsinki is ranked 91 in the world by Times Higher Education and QS Ranking. Moreover, it is consistently placed amongst the 20 best universities in Europe by International rankings.
The University of Helsinki has around 32000 students with six percent of them are international students. It has 11 faculties and provides more than 25 Master’s Degree programmes, all taught in English. In 2016, the institution’s researchers produced 10.552 publications such as peer previewed scientific articles, scientific writings and books, etc. Around 22% of the teachers and researchers in the institution are from outside Finland.
