The HafenCity University of Hamburg - University for Architecture and Metropolitan Development ( HCU ) [2] - is a state-oriented, technically oriented university . The HCU unites all aspects of building and urban development in design and design, engineering and natural sciences, as well as humanities and social sciences.
The name of this university, which has existed since 2006, refers to the location of the university building in Hamburg’s HafenCity district , currently the largest inner-city construction site in Europe , and thus also relates to its thematic field of activity. Since the founding of the university, the study courses, which have been distributed to different locations in the urban districts of Uhlenhorst ( Mundsburg ) and Winterhude ( City Nord ), moved to the Überseeallee on 1 April 2014
