Eszterházy Károly College is one of the oldest facilities in Hungary serving higher educational purposes as it was established in the second half of 18th century. The institution is the leading independent college in the region. The College has an established reputation throughout the country, and it has achieved the award of “College of Applied Sciences” and the title of the “Most Popular College in the Region”. There is a vibrant research life in the College. Internationally acclaimed results have been achieved in the field of botany, mathematics, linguistics, history, education and teacher training, ICT, environmental protection, renewable energy sources, fine arts, music and sports. The institution is proud to have several specialisations unique in Hungary, such as Equestrian Tourism.
Eszterházy Károly University serves its students with a wide variety of educational programmes at four campuses located in four cities of the region. In addition to the traditional fields of arts, sciences and humanities, such as pedagogy, natural sciences, creative arts and humanities, we provide undergraduate and graduate programmes and trainings in fields that meet new demands for expertise, while also creating pathways to individual success and fulfilment. Our goal is to provide state of the art knowledge to enable our students to meet today’s labour market needs successfully. The research and knowledge centres under the Eszterházy banner facilitate academically engaging scientific research as well as practical needs of various organizations and companies of the region.
